2016 AT A GLANCE...

The year is just about over and now is the time to look back at the year and see how we did. The beginning of the year started off great, I just certified in my new job, the pregnancy was progressing nicely and the boy was half way through the 5th grade.

In June we went to Hawaii for our "baby moon" and to celebrate my 35th birthday. The Baby Moon is the last big trip before the baby gets here. The boy was out of school and we had a friend stay over and watch him for the week we were gone.

Soon after returning from the Island we had our baby shower. My Mother in-law threw a great baby shower, family and friends joined us in celebrating the coming of baby boy.

Late July we got induced and after 3 days of labor, Makana was born, August 2nd at 1315.

Soon after, the big boy started middle school and with that a whole new set of challenges came along. He started off with straight A's then tapered off to a couple of C's which is highly unacceptable. He was able to bring them up to B's, so he's cool right now. Parenting is an ongoing battle. You're always waiting for that "Aha" moment that may never come until they are grown and out of the house. But no matter how hard it is, I will say it's always worth it...

From there we went, what seemed right into Halloween

Thanksgiving came and went then came Christmas...

2016 was a good year for the Lacsado household. We welcomed a new addition, We watched Buddah turn 12, We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and my 35th birthday in Hawaii. The wife and I looked back at last year this time, when we were still pregnant. Wondering how things would turn out. Looking back we have both agreed that much has happened, a lot of lessons learned and a lot of growth. I'm very optimistic for the upcoming year and all the opportunities and challenges it will bring.

I'd like to end this blog with a simple decree. Be thankful for what you have. If you want something put together a plan to get it and execute. Work hard and stay vigilant. Be grateful for the people in your life. Be good to one another and never judge.

Thank You for joining me on our journey. Happy New Year
