A Stroll down Memory Lane...

This last Sunday I took my son with me for a stroll down memory lane. We visited some of the places I used to work and took some pictures and tagged some friends. Sometimes you have to look back on the path you've traveled in order to appreciate where you are now. It was fun being able to take my son to some of these places and share with him my journey. Some of the places he remembered some he didn't.

We visited one of stores I managed and looks like

they went out of business...

...store looks empty...

...Naw they just moved!

Worked at both these stores. That's a Verizon in the back...

...this store holds a special place for me. I ran into the person that gave me the best advice in my working career. This place changed the game for me.

This was my first store in the shoe game, went on to manage 2 store from here...

We stopped for lunch and had pizza in the food court then to out final stop...

The whole day we were out it was pouring rain. As we approached our final stop the sun came out and presented a rainbow. Kinda symbolic because we were visiting the place the wife and I first met. Needless to say it was a fun day with the boy. Like I said, sometimes you have to look back at where you've been to appreciate where you are.

If you can, take time to show your kids where you've been and share your story with them. It'll be fun for them as they get to see where you've been and it'll also be very humbling for you. No matter how psychically or emotionally difficult your journey may have been you should always use it as reference point, as that journey molded you into the person you are today. For better or for worse it's your story and you should be proud of it.
