Hey Dads, we just took the the kids to one of our favorite beaches yesterday. Buddah had been there before but it was Makana's first time out and first time to the beach. So the beach is about a good hour and 30 mins from us. So it was a long car ride. The wife planned accordingly but with a new born you can never be fully prepared.
When we got to the beach it was really cold and over cast, welcome to NorCal beaches. We did plan for a little cold but not that cold. Got the baby out but since we had a long car ride , Mel changed and fed him before we went down. A couple of years ago we went to this beach for some family photos and wanted to reenact them but with the new born. After we got all the shots we wanted, we decided to leave. The half day trip turned into a whole day trip because we decided to stop and have lunch. Walk around their little shopping area and hang around for a bit.
For you new Dads take note, your trips will revolve around the baby's schedule. You'll have to make many pit stops for feeding and changings so plan accordingly and be patient. One thing we didn't bring was Makana's acid re-flux medicine, which made the car ride home very challenging. So no matter what take all medications even if you don't think you'll need them. All in all it was a great trip, both boys were very good and we got some really cool shots.
Just remember, "We work to live, Not live to work", so take the time for family and enjoy every minute with them. Till next time, thanks for stopping by.
